Yoga is a
wonderful way to put you in touch with your body the way nothing else can, and
YES, it can help you lose weight and get the great body you want.
I am in
better shape than I have ever been thanks to yoga!. Many famous artists, many
professional athletes and models do it, too. Yoga will give you the best body
you could possibly have if you practice regularly.
There is a
very interesting thing about the yoga practice:
Your
perception of what a “great body” is will change. If you think: when I lose
weight I’ll be happy and content, this will change as you practice yoga
regularly. You start to love and respect your body as it is inside and out and
you´ll stop being critical towards your
external appearance. Your perception of your body shifts after regular
practice. You realize that your body is the Temple of your Soul, so whether or
not your body is “good enough” stop to matter, because you’re happy accepting
how it is right now.
The practice
of yoga asanas, works far more than just your muscles, it doesn’t just lengthen
and strengthen them. It works in every single system in your body and works in
a subtle level. By lowering your stress levels, it can prevent you from
"stress eating." Your increased awareness leads to healthier lifestyle
choices, resulting in a healthier mind and body, including increased
metabolism. Metabolism rate actually depends upon several factors like age,
gender and physical activities. Indigestion and constipation are the most
common problems in people. Indicators of a slow metabolism include a poor
digestive system and a lethargic liver. When these two organs are not
functioning properly, the whole body suffers, including your metabolism.
Because both organs are located in the abdomen, yoga asanas like bhujangasana,
salabhasana or dhanurasana and pranayama
help to increase metabolism and help you to lose weight.
Let me share
with you how my body has transformed since I began to practice yoga regularly:
I have lost
weight trough yoga practice and now maintain my ideal body weight with ease and
I eat what I want when I want with no restriction. What I have experienced
since I started to practice yoga is that my system is more sensitive and aware
of what my body needs to feel good and healthy. I don’t feel like eating crap
because it gives me bad digestions and affects to my mood. It’s not about
discipline, I just don’t enjoy processed and unhealthy food anymore. I still
love chocolate and I enjoy some special
treats sometimes. Yoga gives you the spiritual connection to your body that
leads you to make better choices!.
I realize
that it’s not actually having a fit body what we want. We just think it is.
What we truly want is to look in the mirror and feel awesome about ourselves.
We want to feel love for ourselves and to be accepted and loved by our family,
friends and the ones you meet.
Practicing
yoga will give you a fit body, not just because it changes and reshapes your
body, balancing your metabolism although it does do this. No, practicing yoga
will give you a good body because it pierces your illusions and pulls back the
veil of illusion to reveal that you already have a great body. It’s just
waiting for you to see it, appreciate it, and celebrate it so it can shine
bright like the Sun!.
With Love and
appreciation.
